Our restaurant design for Little Saigon in East London has been named among the 'world's most stylish' in the national media. The Vietnamese street-food restaurant's colourful quirky design sits alongside large-scale creations from across the globe in a piece in the Daily Mail. The eighteen featured venues - all opened or redesigned in the past two years - are competing in the Restaurant and Bar category of the Society of British and International Design (SBID) awards.
Little Saigon is one of seven UK restaurants described as flaunting a 'more understated style'. Opened in May this year, the casual dining venue is a first venture and labour of love for the Pham family who are brining their home cooked Vietnamese dishes to a wider audience.
The Avocado Sweets design combines industrial features and textures with traditional focal points and a healthy dose of uplifting colour for a fresh new look. Meanwhile, a low-level seating area set against exposed brick wall gives diners a taste of the traditional street-dining experience.
This is the second restaurant design by Avocado Sweets to be shortlisted in the past three years, with our Poppies of Camden design in line for the same award in 2013. Last year we beat world-wide competition to win the 'intelligent design' category for our transformation of a residential London apartment.
The SBID international design awards winners will be announced at the Dorchester Hotel on 27 November 2015.
