Hello Moto - New Independent Pizza Restaurant Set For Launch

Exciting new casual dining concept - Moto Pizza - has teamed up with Avocado Sweets Design Studio to help secure their launch into the eating-out market.

With their debut site opening in Chelmsford, Essex in Summer 2018, Moto aims to buck the trend of chain restaurants in the area with a fresh independent offering.

Founders, brother and sister Georgie and Daniel Collins brought in Avocado Sweets to create a brand identity to reflect the Moto personality and experience.

With a yet-to-be-revealed ‘secret twist’, Moto’s ethos is to combine high standards within a playful, creative and relaxed setting. To reflect the brand personality, Avocado Sweets worked with Georgie and Daniel to create a bespoke logo and interior.

“Moto is a really fun concept with serious ambition and dedication to their customer experience. Opening in an area dominated by chains, the first step was to create a logo that felt both exciting and grounded,” says Avocado Sweets’ Director, Susie Agathou.

The final circular brand ‘stamp’ style logo echoes the pizza offering with a rustic font and playful ’t’ motif.

Moto’s interior builds on the firm foundation of the logo design, adding further whimsical touches that communicate the personality of the brand.

“Creating an interior for Moto was a joy from start to finish. The brand ethos is all about effortless enjoyment and we’ve reflected that inside,” says Avocado Sweets Creative Director Evros Agathou. “So you can expect a carefully chosen mix of texture, colour, materials and pattern to make up the individual Moto character, “ he added.

With a large bar at the entrance, Moto’s 1600 sq ft interior is carefully zoned to cater to groups, families, intimate dining or a relaxed evening drink. Even a trip to the toilet won’t disappoint with a feature green wall and colourful tiling.

Co-owner Georgie Collins said: “From all the designers we met with we clicked with Avocado Sweets instantly. They managed to take the idea from our heads and translate that into an amazing restaurant design and brand logo. We can’t wait for the build to finish and bring something fresh to Chelmsford”

Moto is the latest in a line of hospitality design projects from Avocado Sweets. Recent successes include the award nominated start-ups Chit Chaat Chai and Wine&Deli who were both recognised in the international Society of British and International Design Awards
