Avocado Sweets’ restaurant design for Boxpark Croydon newcomers, Wine&Deli has been nominated for an international design award.
The unique interior sits alongside competition from around the world in the prestigious SBID International Design Excellence Awards shortlist.
Taking influences from Croydon old and new, Wine&Deli’s ‘Urban Deco’ design fuses decorative Art Deco features with urban graffiti art. The design was a key feature in helping launch the new Wine&Deli brand, based in a refurbished shipping container in Boxpark’s latest pop-up mall last October.
Creative Director, Evros Agathou said: “Injecting a strong brand personality in a venue the size of a shipping container was no mean feat. Avocado Sweets meets Wine&Deli has proved to be a fantastic mix. We’re delighted the design can now be enjoyed at home and abroad as an international award finalist.”
This is the sixth year that Avocado Sweets has been nominated for, or won, in a range of prestigious awards for our restaurant and residential designs. Past projects include the recently crowned ‘Best British Asian Business’ award-winner Chit Chaat Chai, which was nominated for two design awards last year.
This year’s winners will be decided by a public vote and a professional judging panel. Please vote for Wine&Deli here.
Wine&Deli are a unique team of local entrepreneurs with a huge passion for their concept and product. Their Boxpark venue combines quality food and drink in an informal setting, pairing small plates with a carefully curated wine list. One of Boxpark’s 33 food and drink venues, Wine&Deli sits beside well-established hospitality names.
The Avocado Sweets design was completed in October last year. It hit the mark with client and customers alike, ticking all the right compliance boxes to become the first unit on the new Croydon site to be signed off without a hitch.
