Avocado Sweets has been shortlisted for a prestigious international award from the

Society of British Interior Design (SBID)

.

Our design for Insurance by LittleNLarge.com is in the top three in the ‘innovation’ category, alongside competition from the US and the UK.

Winners of the annual awards will be announced at the Macef trade show in Milan, Italy, in September 2012.

The SBID international awards have six categories for the contract sector.  Designers and manufacturers from around the world were invited to enter and have their work judged by international industry leaders, including Professor Jimmy Choo OBE.

Our

shortlisted design

transformed the headquarters of Insurance by LittleNLarge.com in Southgate, North London to reflect their new branding.  The new-look office created an exciting space for meetings with high-level clients, increasing business and productivity.

The design caters to the nine inch height difference of the company owners with doors, desks and lamps replicated in little and large sizes.  A central putting green completes the humorous look.

Evros Agathou, Founder of Avocado Sweets said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted for this exciting award.  Innovation is central to our design - whether we’re transforming a commercial space to create an impact or finding the best way to make a home work for its occupants.  It’s great to have our innovation recognised by the international design community.”

The innovation category is described by SBID as ‘pure interior design’, creating ‘a solution to a design problem by innovative thinking’. It is ‘for contract projects that have made the most from the client’s brief for the budget available’. It is judged by Veronika Miller, CEO of Modenus.

Winners will be announced at a presentation in Milan on Friday 7 September 2012, as part of the Buyers’ Gala Dinner at Macef, the Italian Residential Trade Show. A trophy presentation will then take place at a private function in London in November 2012.
